Meet Our Team
The idea of Faux Paws Bakery was born in 2016 after the Dykstra family brought a new puppy, Reggie, into their home. Over the years, Christy’s grandmother, mother, and even her young niece have all enjoyed making all-natural dog treats, so it must run in the family. For the past 28 years, Christy has enjoyed being a wife to Tim (who she thinks is the most supportive husband ever), raising four awesome munchkins who are growing up too quickly, doing volunteer work in the community, playing bass guitar at church, and attending CBS.
You will not find anyone with more life and vitality. Karon raised four kids on the farm and enjoyed the company of a blue heeler named Molly for many years. She enjoys her family and volunteer work and occasionally dog sitting for Reggie.
An animal lover at heart who loves to create beauty, Sarah may be the best Guinea pig sitter in town. Sarah and her family adore their cute, little dog, Toffie.
Karen loves learning, the Lord, and creating dishes in
the kitchen. Her live-in companion is a 130-pound black lab/great Dane mix named Jack.
The youngest Dykstra child, you might find Lisa on the track, the volleyball court, at Hidden Acres camp, or pining to be at Hidden Acres camp. She adores Reggie, but her favorite pet was her Guinea pig, Fred.
A high school student balancing school, sports, and CNA work, and the oldest Dykstra daughter, Patience is excited to help at Faux Paws Bakery whenever time allows. Her Guinea pig, Ginger, once bit a large chunk of hair off a fellow (unnamed) “bonehead.”
Sam is the second oldest Dykstra child and is a college junior pursuing criminal justice. Most days you will find Sam with a tennis racquet in his hand. Sam’s dog,
Brownie, was his 7th birthday gift and favorite pet. We called her the best dog ever.
The oldest of four Dykstra kids, Mark is an ICU nurse and has mad IT skills for which his parents are very grateful. If you see him at Faux Paws Bakery, he will likely be programming equipment. His first pets were Rosy & Pickles, small frogs who lived years beyond what any of us could have imagined.
Tim wears a few different hats. When he is not unpacking bags of dog food, he can be found in the hospital taking care of his patients. He is a fan of anything sports-related and commonly says that he has too much useless trivia in his head. Tim’s favorite pet as a child was a Siamese cat named Jennifer.
Originally from Mason City, Morgan attends Central
College and loves all things British, especially the Royal
Family. Her family dog, Wafer, is a well-mannered golden lab.
